Takao has been sleeping in the bed where the lamp is on the right-hand side. The quilt mostly covers the bed, not dramatically flung aside. The Other Bed has a small pile of his clothes - as a teenage boy who's continued exercising, it's immediately obvious these ones are not clean. His set of pajamas is folded up in the top drawer of the dresser, which hangs a little open. The closet is closed. A historical bright orange jacket he wore sorta often is there along with a thick deep orange greatcoat that he never wore.
The pad and pen in the bedside table seem to have been in use. There are a couple bad origami pieces or paper airplanes lying around on the far side of the Other Bed. On the top of the bedside table are two pieces of paper. One is sparse: "Shintaro Midorima" above a residential address in an upper-class ward of Tokyo, Japan. Then spaced below it, written later, is the address of "Shutoku High School", in a reasonable school area in an upper-middle-class ward of Tokyo, Japan. Then another piece of paper is a letter, probably the one he wrote most recently. In the actual drawer are more letters.
Shin-chan,
It's been a while now. If anyone ever suggests you quit basketball cold turkey, even Oha Asa, just shoot them right into the trash. It's been so long since I've fought some strong opponent! I miss playing rock paper scissors, never mind official games against other teams! Hey, if you don't have the rickshaw to ride in, make sure you're keeping up your footwork. My little sister has a wagon you can borrow if carrying lucky items is the problem, lol. Just don't use this as an excuse to take the subway! \(>A<)/
You had better not be telling people "one of my servants is temporarily indisposed nanodayo"... I want to be in top condition when I get back. It'd really suck if a freshman had to step up and replace me as the starting point guard. I'm practicing as much as I can without a ball... or a court, or anything.
I really miss our school. All the traditional stuff like the bells, but a good sports program, with a nice worn-in gym. Maybe the third years will graduate before all this is over. Send them my regards, okay?
Actually, I miss you. More than anyone. It's really weird not having you here. I always imagined you at my side if I got dragged into some creepy situation (considering you've dragged me into your fair share of them yourself, lol). Sometimes I even think "what would my lucky item be today nanodayo", or should I have had it with me to keep this bullshit from happening. Though Cancer was in last place on Kuroko's birthday lol not Scorpio so I guess Oha Asa only goes so far. You really do everything humanly possible, no matter how stupid it is. I'm pretty glad we became partners. I learned so much practicing to send you the best pass, and now that you stopped being a tool twenty-four seven and occasionally have a couple actual dere moments, spending all my time with you really isn't so bad anymore. You're literally my best friend nanodayo!!! Don't have too much fun without me, I'll pedal the rickshaw back to Shutoku before you know it.
Takao
In the drawer, the letters (which are definitely all addressed to this guy "Shin-chan") mostly mention random funny stuff that happened over the course of daily life in Lebensbaum. There is no killing game; a lot of people have been kidnapped and do not know the true purpose of their torment. Miata seems like just another guest:
Miata Jansome has been cooking us most of our food. She's from around here - Lebensbaum, Lithuania, from what I understand - so it's really different from home. I thought all the spices would be a great setup fror some swapping prank, but it didn't really work out. I'll have to come up with some other way to have fun, even without a store to get supplies or anything... Seriously you'd wanna die here not knowing where to get your lucky item
This letter is, logically, the first one:
Shin-chan,
I don't know if this will get through but I obviously can't text you so it's worth a try. You might have figured out it was no big deal to not hear from me on Sunday since it's a holiday and all (I bet you went "what a nice break from Takao bothering me, nanodayo") but now Monday is coming so tell Marbo I can't make it to practice. I've been kidnapped. No, seriously, call the cops, my parents have probably done that already. I keep trying to call for help. Of course there's no phone here though.
Keep doing your best at practice without me. Make sure to drill receiving from Yuya-san now that he's gonna be a starting member. Your peripheral vision is such crap, haha. We have to bring the team together and mix things up if we're going to beat Seirin and everyone in the Interhigh. Fight!!
Takao
P.S.
Here are the sentences for English homework. You can just tell the homeroom teacher I don't have the rest.
1. He is looking for his sword.
2. She has never heard of basketball.
2. She puts up with wearing kimono in the snow.
